In our lesson in Maths and Sustainability, our topic was about renewable and non-renewable resources. We learnt the meaning/definition of it. In a group, we had to discuss which goes in the renewable category and what goes to non-renewable. After discussing, we had to vote as a class where it should go, after that, our teacher will reveal the answer and explain the reason why.
There are two main types of resources, "renewable" and "non-renewable".
Renewable resources can be used indefinitely if they are usee in a sustainable way. However, if we overuse renewable resources, it will cease to exist.
Non-renewable resources cannot be remade, regrown, or regeneration, the most that can happen is they are recycled.
Resources:
- Soil - Renewable
- Fossil Fuels such as coal and gas - Non-renewable
- Gold and copper - Non-renewable
- Water - Renewable
- Fish and Marine life - Renewable
- Forests - Renewable
- Solar and Wind Power - Non-renewable
- Coffee - Renewable
- Wool and Cotton - Renewable
