Other comments:


1. For Water Cycle 1, it had no acidity, it evaporated a wee bit and there were small drips of waters in the bag. 

2. It evaporated a wee bit and there were small drips of waters in the bag. 

3. There were small water drips in the bag that indicated that the water in the bag actually went through the process of water cycle. 

4. For Water Cycle 2, we used soda water, which is acidic.

5. We repeated the same steps that we did on the first one but clipping the Litmus paper on the ziplock bag.

6. The Litmus paper turned into blue.

7. For Desert Water Cycle 3, we used sand and a teaspoon of water

8. It went through water cycle but with the sand

9. There were tiny drips in the bag, moistening.




Conclusion:


All the bag went through the process of evaporation, on experiment 2, the Litmus paper turned into red then blue. Meaning that it actually did what we wanted it to do.

Flooding connects to the ocean, it then creates gas, the process is called evaporation, after it evaporates, it creates gas which is the cloud, it's called condensation, condensation connects to water vapour which is moist, precipitation is when it rains, it creates freshwater. When it rains, it creates hurricanes and storms. Carbon dioxide creates acid rain.

  1. Precipitation - Is when it rains
  2. Hurricanes - A type of cyclone that usually happens in a tropical country that creates strong winds and heavy rains
  3. Storms - A weather with rain, thunders, lightning or snow
  4. Evaporation - When the water is heated up that turns it into water vapour 
  5. Carbon Dioxide - It's an odourless and colourless gas that is produced by burning fossil fuels
  6. Water - It's an odourless, tasteless, transparent chemical (and necessity) that is used for everyday life Oceans - A large body of water that covers 71 per cent of the Earth's surface
  7. Water vapour - Is the other term of clouds, steam and moisture
  8. Freshwater - A part of the Earth's aquatic ecosystem,  includes lakes, rivers, streams, wetlands and etc
  9. Flooding - When the water quickly rises up from the deep part of the ocean or other aquatic ecosystems, covering the land we are stepping on

Using your SOLO hexagons poster write a paragraph about the different aspects of climate change.  
  1. Precipitation - It storms, it gives water to the plants and it makes freshwater. It helps the plants but it creates floods causing.
  2. Hurricanes - It affects houses, it destroys farms, crops and kills people, it creates more rain in climate change. 
  3. Storms - Hurricanes create more rain in climate change creating storms
  4. Evaporation - It's a process where the water turns into gas
  5. Carbon Dioxide - Carbon Dioxide causes climate change 
  6. Water - Sea level rising causing tsunamis and floods
  7. Oceans - The warm temperature of the water travels to cold places with ice, causing glaciers to melt rapidly than it had 100 years ago
  8. Water vapour - The water vapour is like greenhouse gas and once it's into the air it increases the warm temperature of carbon dioxide.
  9. Freshwater - Climate change has decreased the quality of the water and the salt water has come into our water supplies like pipes, or the water supplies we drink and bath from, it's what climate change is doing to the fresh water we have
  10. Flooding - When the water from the ocean rises, it creates floods, clogging the drains, causing the flood to rise higher since there's nothing the flood will go through

Climate change is when the sun's energy warms the Earth, that releases heat to the atmosphere

ACIDIFICATION: HOW DOES CLIMATE CHANGE CONTRIBUTE TO THE ACIDIFICATION OF OUR OCEANS?


Acidification is when we get acid in our ocean.

When the water evaporates and turns into gas making clouds, the smoke from factories goes with the gas creating acid rain. Then when there's acid rain, it goes to the ocean, making our ocean acidic.

DEFORESTATION: HOW DOES DEFORESTATION AFFECT CLIMATE CHANGE?


If there are no trees, nothing's going to absorb the water from. When it rains, causing floods and we won't have oxygen to breathe.

ICE CAP MELT: HOW DOES ICE CAP MELT AFFECT CLIMATE CHANGE?


The warm temperature of the water destroys our glaciers and melt it, when a large clump of glaciers falls, the impact can cause the sea level to rise, causing tsunamis

I didn't find any diagram of it online, but in this picture, it shows a large chunk of glacier falling. To be specific, it's because of the heat of the water.




WATER VAPOUR: HOW DOES CLIMATE CHANGE CONTRIBUTE TO WATER VAPOUR AND EVAPORATION?


Water vapour itself is a greenhosue gas therefor, it increases the warming of the carbon dioxide, causing the planet to heat up. And it's where droughts happen and sea temperature to heat up.

Hurmanu - Science - Water Cycle

AIM: TO LOOK AT THE WATER CYCLE AND HOW CLIMATE CHANGE IS AFFECTING IT.

Definition:


It's when the sun heats up and evaporates the water from the ocean, the ocean then turns into a gas or water vapour creating clouds - It's the same as plants and it's called transpiration when the plants evaporate, creating a cloud - The process of making clouds is called condensation, precipitation is when it rains.  And the process will then repeat over and over again.




Scientific words:


  • Evaporation. When water is heated by radiant energy it turns into water vapour.
  • Transpiration. Evaporation from plants.
  • Condensation. When water vapour cools, molecules join together and form clouds.
  • Precipitation. When clouds get heavy the waters falls as rain, sleet, hail, or snow.
  • Acidification: the action or process of making or becoming acidic.

We will be conducting an experiment that looks at the different ways that climate change is affecting the water cycle.

THE WATER CYCLE EXPERIMENT

Bag 1: Normal Water cycle
Bag 2: Water cycle with CO2 added: like Oceans in climate change
Bag 3: Water cycle with ice added: like Antarctica in climate change

Material:

  1.  2 ziplock bags bag
  2.  Vivid marker
  3.  A cup of water and soda water (for the second experiment) 
  4.  2 drops of colouring
  5. Litmus paper

Steps:

  1. Get all the materials/equipment you need for this experiment.
  2.  Draw the sea, clouds, sun, and plants and write down the scientific words.
  3.  Pour the water in the ziplock bag carefully, not spilling it and not smudging the drawing.
  4.  Put 2 drops of food colouring in the ziplock bag and mix it in the water carefully, it will look like the ocean, I guess, well it has to look like the ocean 
  5.  Put it up and stick it on a window where the sunlight can come through and watch it evaporate.
For the second experiment, the materials will be the same except, we're using soda water instead of normal water and we're adding litmus paper to it. The steps will be the same but we're putting litmus paper but we're actually not going to put it inside the bag, we are going to clip it where the ziplock is and make sure it's stuck in there

Findings and my predictions about the experiment:

I think that the water inside the ziplock bag will moist - Condensation
I think the water will turn lighter after it moist
The water will lesses since it will moist 

For the second experiment, I think that the ziplock bag will have air forming in it since the bubbles from the soda water is carbon dioxide, it will create air which will expand the plastic bag creating air in it like a balloon. The colour of litmus paper is yellow and when something acidic touches it, it will change the colour to red. 

Conclusion:

The first thing we did was we find out what evaporation, precipitation, transpiration and condensation means, in short, we looked for the definition of those scientific words. We then looked at the process of water cycling. After talking about the water cycle, we proceed on doing an experiment, we have to be in groups of 3 so I grouped up with my friends, We get the materials and do the steps. 
I also know a little bit about the water cycle but now I learned more about it, I learned about the four words, well I know how evaporation works but I learned a little more an about it now. The rest, I know the definition of them now and the process of the water cycle.
