How the dish was made:
1. Cut the vegetables (that you chose to put in your stir fry) in julienne. We chose cauliflower, carrots and mushroom, the members in our group didn't want broccoli so we just didn't include it in. The carrots were cut in julienne while the rest was cut the way it was supposed to be cut.
2. Cut the chicken in strips, we used chicken breast, each group had a chicken breast each.
3. Marinate the chicken strips in sesame oil (btw sesame oil is sooooooo gooooood, you should try it).
4. Cut the onions to dice, the specific name for cutting into small dices is mince (minced onions).
5. In a pan, saute your chicken and onions, first add the onions then the chicken.
6. While that chicken is cooking, boil the noodles in the water, we used one pack of noodles.
7. Once the chicken is nearly cooked, add your vegetables.
8. Put the seasoning on the noodles.
8. Wait until the vegetables are cooked then add your noodles, stir it then add a little bit of soy sauce.
9. Stir it until it's cooked, it took us 15 - 20 minutes to cook.
Ingredients:
- Chicken Flavoured Noodles
- Onions
- Carrots
- Cauliflower
- Chicken
- Mushroom
Sensory Evaluation:
Sight: The stir fry looked really good, the colour of the carrot made the stir look vibrant, it's a bit on the dark side because when you saute food, it's going to look golden brown-ish. And it's probably because of the soy sauce since soy sauce is a dark coloured sauce.
Smell: It smelled like sesame oil, it's because we used sesame oil.
Taste: It tasted really good, you can taste the carrots, the seasoning on the noodles, which is chicken. The taste of the sesame oil was really powerful so it tasted more like sesame.
Touch: Crunchy because of the cauliflower but a bit on the soft side.
Hear: It's crunchy when you bite the cauliflower.
Rate:
I would rate it 9/10 because the cauliflower was not cooked properly, it's a bit on the raw side.
Next steps to improve:
Next time, what we could improve on is time management, we didn't have time to cook the cauliflower longer because we only had 10 minutes and we needed time to eat it as well. Maybe we could've added some greens but most people in our group don't really eat greens.
This is my group's stir fry
I agree with your comments that it could make the stir fry look more appealing by adding more colour. What other vegetables could you put in to make it more colourful? Yes I think all the groups found the cauliflower was not cooked enough.
ReplyDeleteThis was your first dish this term and its a good start for you and your group.
