Lemon Batteries
What are "Lemon Batteries?"
It's a battery often used for educational purposes. It is a chemical reaction of turning chemical energy to electrical energy.
Aim: To produce an electrical current using lemons.
Equipment:
- Copper Electrode
- Zinc Electrode
- Copper Wire
- Lemon
- Voltmeter
Steps/Method:
1. Roll the lemon around to break the little juice packets inside, make sure it's nice and juicy, to know that it's nice and juicy, you'll notice the lemon gets softer.
2. It's okay, if you don't have copper wire, the experiment will still work either way. Poke the lemon using the zinc electrode and the copper electrode.

3. Using the voltmeter's test probes, connect or pin it, the red (positive) prove on the copper electrode and the black or yellow (negative) probes on the zinc electrode. You'll then see how much volts are inside of the battery on the scale.
