Sit, Stay, Love
Author: J.J Howard
Non-Fiction, Romance
The main topic of the book is a girl wanting a dog and meeting a boy
Main Character:
Cecilia
Vocabularies I've learnt:
Chasmophile - Lover of small spaces, nooks and crannies
Facts I've learnt:
People vs Dogs
- People complain, puppies never do
- People can be sneaky mean. If a dog id mad he'll just bark or maybe even bite. But there's no sneak
- People: not furry. Also, it's weird if they lick your hand
- They love you no matter what
For the subject topic "Power to the People" we had to bring a book if you don't have a book/didn't bring one, you can just read on articles on the paper that you chose from what the teacher gave you. I brought the book I already had, it's one of my favourite books and it's been so long since I last read it. I think the last time I read it was around 2 years ago. It gave me a nostalgic feeling.

It started with a list of "People vs Puppies" It's mostly biased and is on about the dog's side. In the first few pages, a problem occurred, their house was one fire and she and her dad had to live with her aunt while the firefighters were fixing their house. It mostly describes the main character's personality; a loner, dog lover (she's been asking for a puppy since birth).

So the next chapter talked about a new dog that was rescued and brought to the shelter. How Cecilia and Potato (the names Cecilia gave the pug) bonded together; Cecilia taking care of the pug and talking to Potato about her life and looking after the shelter called Orphan Paws.
Page 16-24
Cecilia and Potato continued to bond. But the next few pages, it focused more on her Aunt Pamela, her dad's older sister. There was also a list of "Reasons why Cecilia Murray should be allowed to have a dog". Aunt Pamela's personality is also described in the pages I have read, it wasn't actually described, I kind of somewhat figured out her personality based on how she treats and talks to Cecilia.
Page 24-28
After reading those 4 pages, I met another character in the book named "Eric Chung" who is - to Cecilia's knowledge - the most popular guy in eighth grade. It was written down what Cecilia thought about Eric, it also describes Eric. In the last two pages between page 24 to 28, it was shown in the book how one of her teachers, Mrs Wilson, treated her, kind of different than Eric.
Page 28-32
I got to know more about Cecilia and how much of an anti-social she was because it's been so long since she has talked to a someone since her best friend, Mel, left. She's been only talking to dogs and her relatives and the boss of the orphanage she works at.
Page 32-37
The author introduced Mel to the story, who is Cecilia's bestfriend that moved cities and is the opposite of her. It told about her personality, how she is treated in her new school and her relationship with Mel like what kind of friendship they have. It also explained about this Allie girl - popular girl - who is rumoured that she went out with Eric Chung.

The one and only, Eric Chung went to Orphan Paws to adopt a purebred dog, along with his mum. Cecilia was rude to him because she found him annoying. They adopt purebred dogs because they take dogs on talent shows and they only allow purebred dogs. Potato - the dog Cecilia fell in love with, was safe from Eric Chung, he was the only purebred dog at the moment at the Orphan Paws, therefore, there could've been a large chance of possibility that he would get adopted by the Chung Family. But thank goodness they didn't tell them about Potato.
44-51
She met Eric Chung's sister, Lily Chung. She wasn't as snobby as Cecilia thought she was. They did kickball and Cecilia was in the backfield along with Lily Chung, the both of them weren't a fan of kickball or any particular sports, that's what they have in common. That's how they met and had a chat.
