About Our Production (Extravaganza)

Our Production (Extravaganza, Past to Presence)

Our production was all about "Past to Presence" and Ako Ngatahi/room 11 and 12 were doing the NZ Music Month, we were doing that because we want people to remember great musics.

If you all don't know what "Extravaganza" means is to perform dances in many forms.

I chose the group "Six Months in a Leaky Boat" because that interest me, my role was the Sailor dancer and so as the other people in my group.

It happened at the Hornby High School Auditorium and it happened last night and yesterday night. Our teacher wants us to wear "Navy Blue Shirt with White Stripes for the top, black pants for the bottom , Sailor's hat, and Sailor's neckerchief" because wearing those will make our group more interesting and entertaining.

Before the performance I felt really nervous because I don't know if I'm going to mess it all up but during the performance I still felt really nervous then I tried to smile and be confident, I did it, after the performance I was really happy because I did it in front of the audience. 

What we have learnt is about the steps, music, where we going to go (like where's the backstage)  and smiling to the audience (being confident).

Reflection (what went well) : Our dance went really good, we smiled at the audience and not looking to each other because I learnt that if you look to one of the people on your group then it means that you don't know the step and if you don't look at each other and try your personal best then your performance will went well.

My next step: Is to smile, be more confident, try your personal best.

“Somalia”

It was 6:51 am, the ocean sparked like a glitter,

A group of vicious pirate took over our ship,

I was shocked, frozen, nervous, I don't know what to do, they want our ship, I don't know why they want our ship. The leader of the group of  vicious pirates wanted the key from me, he said “GIVE ME THE KEYS!…”, I was frozen like a statue, then he repeated what he said but with more calmed voice... “give me the key…”, I gave him the keys and he said “I’m the captain now” .

The other pirates were eager to opened the container but there was nothing inside, then the group of robots came out of the containers, it was like a surprise.

The pirates were frozen and shocked while their mouth were opened,

they turned around and saw the robots,

All the robots scared the pirates away by saying “boo!” then all the pirates panicked and ran away like a chicken , all the robots wanted the pirates to beg for our forgiveness.

The robot gave the key to me and we thanked them for their braveness…...

Among The Hidden Comic Strip

W.A.L.T retell the most important part of a novel to date.
I've been doing this comic strip about Among The Hidden for 5 days and finally I have finished it.

There are 4 pages on the comic strip.
What I've did in my comic strip is that I have drawn the main characters of Among the Hidden and colouring it to make it look colourful, and I have put some speech bubbles.
The book really helped me a lot because by reading it, it made me fell like I was in the story.

Among The Hidden is about a boy who is stuck in a house forever because in this story there's only 2 children allowed and Luke is the 3rd child. If they let Luke outside or in public and if people saw him or the Government, there will be a punishment, you either get fined, arrested or kids taken away or killed. This story is like the China law too.
What I've done well is drawing the characters, I know it's not perfect but It'll work.
My next step is that I'm going to make it more dimensional.

3 hours later, he had reached the pointy mountains,

He parked his boat, after that

He got his bike out and rode it on,

He rode up through the sharp and pointy mountains.

He climbed up to the mountains till he got on top of the mountain, he’s like the king of the mountains.

He rode down the mountains till he got to the seashore.

He sat down with his bike and watched the waves…

Up, down, up down…It was night time I watched Emilia jumped on her bed, having fun. Her mum came to her room and said “calm down, calm down” and she kissed her on her forehead.

I watched her close her eyes and fell asleep, her mum looked out the window and saw her husband building the trampoline. After building the trampoline her husband went inside their house. Two foxes came toward the trampoline and got inside the small net.

They started jumping and bouncing, up and down, then a badger came inside the trampoline. The fox wanted to see if the skunk wanted to play with them then the other fox joined in, the skunk joined too, I watched them having fun outside, I felt bitterness, “Why can’t I have fun like them?”           I wondered “it’s so barbaric” I added.

It was early in the morning the sun was shining bright, Emilia ran down the stairs and ran outside to see her gift that his dad built, Emilia was so excited to see what she got for her Christmas gift! I ran outside passed Emilia and jumped inside the trampoline, I jumped up and down, I was so glad that I got to on her trampoline and have fun, I smiled with a pleasure.
