How the Black Death went from Asia to Europe - Social Studies - Hurumanu

Today, I've finished work in social studies about the Black Death, and yes, we're still working at home.  For this activity, we have to make a cartoon stip regarding how the disease spread from Asia to Europe.

I've learnt that the reason why Black Death was very easy to spread since, in the medieval, the people's hygiene was very poor. Did you know that when you're poor in medieval times, you're very lucky if you get to bath 4 times per year! Yes, that's how poor their hygiene was, bathing and washing were very uncommon back then. No wonder why they get sick easily. Lesson learned we should take good care of ourselves so we don't get sick easily and to have a good, clean, and healthy body.

This was the cartoon stip we have to copy

This is mine

Sequence of Events
  1. Traders in the Crimea have been besieged for three years by Tartar hordes from Central Asia.
  2. The Black Death breaks out among the Tartars.
  3. The Tartars used their sieged machines to fling their dead inside the walls of the fort.
  4. The disease spreads to the people inside the fort.
  5. The Tartars flee.
  6. The survivors inside the fort set sail for Europe bringing the disease with them.

Talking about having poor hygiene in the medieval times, this is one of the 11 facts about medieval hygiene that I made using Canva

We are very lucky that we have what we have now, necessities, having toilets, tissue, shower, etc.

Check out for more facts you didn't know
